Both COVID-19 Cases Reported Wednesday Confirmed to Be Community Acquired

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) announced that two lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Lincoln today, bringing the community total to 59.

Today’s cases are two men in their 20s and 60s. Both are self-isolating, and close contacts are self-quarantined. Both cases were found to be community acquired. Yesterday, it was reported that the total number of community-acquired cases was 40, but that was later corrected to 39. Today’s two new community acquired cases bring the total to 41.

LLCHD is now monitoring 63 individuals. Lancaster County reports one death, 1845 negative tests, and 59 positives, with 12 tests pending at the Nebraska Public Health Lab. There are now 911 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nebraska and 20 deaths.
