Pocatello will join the rest of the nation in celebrating the importance of trees to our community.
At Thursday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Brian Blad will proclaim April 28 to be Arbor Day in Pocatello. The decree will be read by Councilman Gary Moore and encourages citizens to “support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands” as well as urges Pocatellans “to plant and care for trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of this and future generations.”
The proclamation was requested by Brett Hewatt, Arborist for the City of Pocatello.
Thursday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
