A MESSAGE TO OUR NEIGHBORS From Mayor John P. “Jack” Seiler

To Our Neighbors:
On behalf of the City Commission, I wanted to publicly thank our City management and staff for their outstanding service and extraordinary performance before, during, and after Hurricane Irma.
Since early last week, I have been truly impressed by the incredible response of our City employees, and by the extremely competent, organized, disciplined, and highly professional manner in which they all conducted themselves under very stressful and difficult circumstances.
Also, by the hundreds of complimentary messages received about our City employees, I know that many of you are also impressed and appreciative of our City management and staff and wanted to share that gratitude.
Make no mistake – the City of Fort Lauderdale continues to function at a high level because we have assembled an exceptional group of workers who care about our City, our neighbors, and our future.
In addition to thanking our employees for their service and sacrifice, I especially want to thank their families and loved ones for their support and sacrifice during Hurricane Irma. Many of those families had to prepare for and ride out Hurricane Irma without their loved one, and now have to complete the recovery and restoration in the same manner.
As Mayor, I am proud, privileged, and honored to serve with such an amazing and talented group.
Best wishes to all of you for a fast and full storm recovery, for a welcome return to normalcy, and for a happy, healthy and safe weekend!
Very truly yours,
John P. “Jack” Seiler
