It has been awhile since I have been to Salt Lake City, Utah and actually had time to eat lunch. Recently, it has seemed like I would drive down, do one or two things and then turn around and head home. There wasn????????t any time to breath and enjoy the many restaurants in Salt Lake City. On this trip, I was heading to Salt Lake City for an afternoon meeting and decided to make time to stop by Settebello????????s Pizzeria Napoletana.
It was after lunch so we were able to be seated quickly in a great location in the back of the restaurant. The menu had some great choices for anti pasta????????s such as insalata, caprese, focaccia, misto, plus many others. The pizza????????s ranged from a simple Marinara to pizza????????s with more complex flavors like the Emilia.
The service was pleasant and not rushed ??????? it was a great place to enjoy a thin-crust pizza and talk business. We ended up ordering a Caprese for starters and a Marinara and a Margherita pizza. Each of the pizzas were just the right size for an individual.
The Caprese was a great start with thick slices of mozzarella cheese alternating with thick slices of tomato with olive oil and shredded basil. With a dash of balsamic vinegar on the cheese and tomato finished this anti pasta off nicely.
I am partial to thin crust pizza and this is the type of pizza that Settebello????????s Pizzeria prepares. Because of the thin crust and extremely high temperature brick ovens, it only takes a couple of minutes to cook the pizza. The ??????Marinara?????? is a very simple pizza with crushed tomato sauce and a few basil leaves. There actually isn????????t any cheese on this particular pizza. I loved it sprinkled with a little parmesan cheese. The crushed tomato sauce had a little more body than a regular tomato sauce that many pizza makers use. Coupled with the thin crust, this was a great choice for a light lunch.
Items on the menu ranged from $5 to $13, with drinks perhaps a little more. To me, that seemed very reasonable for lunch in Salt Lake City. Settebello????????s Pizzeria Napoletana is located at 260 South 200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah. The hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. throughout the week.
