A Drive, A Dinner, A Relaxing Evening

Can you pass up a chance to go to dinner? How about if it is in Richmond? Well, I couldn????????t pass up the opportunity to go out to eat with my family. And yes, we were heading to Richmond, Utah to eat at LD????????s Caf????. It had been years since I had eaten there, so I was eager to return to see how the place was holding up.

LD????????s has been a mainstay in Richmond since I can remember (40 plus years) and I am sure well before that. Over the years, the restaurant has expanded to the side into an empty space, but has kept the same look and feel. Think of a soda bar with booths along the wall. Walk through the back door and you have entered the pool hall, with pool tables, a bar and tables to enjoy a good meal.

Many people who travel through Richmond don????????t realize that the center of town is east of the main highway. Even though my family is from the valley, they didn????????t realize that there was a ??????downtown?????? Richmond. I think they may have been a little surprised to rediscover this corner of Cache Valley.

Choices on the menu range from grilled cheese sandwiches to sirloin steak with shrimp. However, some of the items are reserved for the weekend. Around the table, there were a couple of us that had halibut strips (deep fried) and a couple of others ordered the steak. Nothing on the menu is over $16.00, so you can enjoy a good meal without breaking the bank. The halibut strips were tasty with good chunks of halibut. Fries, dinner salad and a taste of coleslaw rounded out the meal. From the others who were eating the steaks, they mentioned that they had great flavor.

If you are looking for a relaxing hometown restaurant in Cache Valley, you need to drive the few minutes to Richmond and relax at LD????????s Caf????. During the drive, you have a chance to see some great valley views and enjoy the company of those you are with. I guess in other terms, it would be ??????taking the time to smell the roses.??????

LD????????s Caf???? is located in beautiful downtown Richmond, Utah, 39 West Main Street, (435) 258-5135.
