A Cache Valley Mainstay

Perhaps, you remember when Pier 49 Pizza first came to Logan. It was located on the block where the Logan Library now stands and had the look and feel of a pizza place that had been there for decades. However, at that time, it was new. The pizzas were new and innovative with some great variations. I ate my fair share. However, times have changed. I need to watch what I eat now and pizza tends to add a little girth if eaten on a regular basis.

Pier 49 Pizza is now in Providence just across from the Macey????????s Grocery Store. It is new (a couple of years old), but still has some of the same pizzas. The menu has been fine-tuned, but still is different from the other pizza restaurants.

I needed a place to check my emails, so I decided it would be a good time to grab a quick bite and do some quick work on the computer. It was a little after the lunch crowd so it wasn????????t crowded. There are several lunch specials that range from a pizza or salad and drink to a full pizza.

I chose the slice of pizza, salad and drink which came in just under $7. One of my favorite pizzas is the spinach pizza with a variety of cheeses. Generally, I prefer a thin crust pizza, but the specialty here is a sourdough crust and it works well for a thicker crust at Pier 49 Pizza. Another favorite pizza of mine is the ??????Garlic Festival.?????? This has a garlic sauce with artichoke hearts and fresh tomatoes. You need to make sure that you are with someone who enjoys garlic as much as you. Just sayin????????.

Pier 49 Pizza now has wi-fi for their customers. This is convenient to check facebook or twitter and let people know where you are eating. Admittedly, I don????????t visit Pier 49 Pizza too often (for reasons mentioned above), but for a lunch or a pizza that is a little different from other pizza places in town, this should provide a pleasant change.

Pier 49 Pizza is located at 99 East 1200 South, Providence, (435) 713-4949 (www.pier49logan.com).
