9:10 a.m. Thursday, February 6, Road Condition Report

Please see the below message from Sie Maroon, Assistant Public Works Director & Superintendent of Operations

Good morning!  The City of Peoria is continuing today with our snow fighting efforts.  Main arterials are in good condition with some areas of snow, slush and wet pavement, but by all means very passable.  Currently crews are treating the main arterial streets on the routed emergency snow routes.  As we progress through our snow removal process today we will begin treating residential street intersections with a combination of a salt and liquid brine treatment.  However, as we are only treating intersections today, our plan is to forego plowing curb to curb for the duration of this snow removal effort.  We will remain on the residential street intersections until they have been completed with the salt brine treatment.   As we look ahead we are planning to take advantage of the warmer air and ground temperatures that are forecasted over the next few days to help with the snow melt.  Travel safe, drive slow and allow extra time to reach your destination.
