8:30 am, Thursday, Jan. 23 Snow Removal Update From Public Works

Please  see the below message from Sie Maroon, Assistant Public Works Director, Superintendent of Operations, and Head of the Snow Fighters

Snow Fighters have been out through the overnight hours treating streets with salt last night.  Currently arterial streets are in good condition and very passable.  The expectation for today and into the evening tonight is an additional 1-2” with rain to mix in at some point.  This may cause some slush build up on the pavement and could cause the streets to be slick.  If so, there may be some minor delays for travel.  However, with the road temperatures continuing to rise today coupled with the precipitation that we are getting, travel will be impeded.  Therefore, we highly recommend that motorist drive slow, travel with caution and plan accordingly to allow more time to reach your destination.  Be safe!
