56th Norman Police Academy Graduation

The Norman Police Department invites the media to attend the graduation ceremony for the 56th Norman Police Academy.

WHAT: The 56th Norman Police Academy, which includes nine new police officers for the Norman Police Department, three new police officers for the University of Oklahoma Police Department and one new fire inspector for the Norman Fire Department, will graduate on Wednesday. The ceremony caps off a 26-week intensive training program that greatly exceeds the minimum standards set forth by the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training. Following graduation, the new Norman police officers will be in field training for 15 weeks before being assigned permanent patrol duties.
