The Urbandale Public Library is partnering with the Hoover Presidential Library Foundation on a special webinar featuring Dr. Terrence Roberts on Thursday, July 16 at 6:00 p.m.

As a teenager in 1957, Roberts became part of civil rights history when he and eight other teenagers became the first Black students to attend classes at Little Rock Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Known today as the “Little Rock 9,” the group was awarded the Congressional Medal by President Bill Clinton in 1999. After his high school experience, Roberts went on to earn a Ph.D. in psychology and had a distinguished career as a professor. He has received national recognition for his work as a civil rights advocate.
