Are you fascinated by storms? Want to be better prepared to deal with severe weather. The National Weather Service is presenting the 2017 storm spotter training seminar on Tuesday, February 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at in the Kansas City Kansas Community College’s Technical Educations Center (TEC). 6565 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS. This seminar is hosted by the Wyandotte County Emergency Management Department. The interactive seminar is free and open to people of all ages.
The National Weather Service office in Pleasant Hill, Missouri will lead the seminar, which is designed to enhance attendees’ ability to correctly recognize, identify and relay information about severe weather. It also demonstrates the difference between severe from non-severe weather. Real time reports are critical to our warning forecasters during severe weather events. This class will leave you with eh “how to” and “what to” report to NWS.
