1940 Census release celebrated in St. Joseph with reception

The Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society (NWMGS) is going to have an event to celebrate the release of the 1940 Census on Apr 2 at East Hills Library at 6:30pm. It is open to the public. There will be an octet from an all-female singing group, a speaker from the National Archives in KC, cake/punch/hors d’oeuvres and a raffle. Come for all of it or just part – up to you. The 1940 census is the first time that the NARA is forgoing the process of releasing the census on microfilm and going straight to digitization.
