NORDC Hosts 2017 Movies in the Park Series

New Orleans Louisiana Recreation CenterNEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will host its 2017 spring season of Movies in the Park, featuring family-friendly, outdoor movie screenings at NORDC parks and playgrounds.  This season, each film screening will have an alternate, indoor location in case of inclement weather.

NORDC will provide a large portable outdoor movie screen, licensed DVD, trash receptacles and restrooms. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic provisions.

Community organizations and neighborhood associations will serve as the host by providing concessions, a volunteer cleanup crew and a table showcasing upcoming neighborhood events.

Movies in the Park is free and open to the public. However, participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal firearms, weapons, smoking or cooking are allowed during the event.

Before each screening, Fit NOLA Parks program instructors will lead fun fitness activities.  Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early to participate and visit with neighbors, family, and friends.
