Mayor Tomas Regalado Opposes Florida Senate Bill 1048 and House Bill 1055

City of Miami Celebrates Completion of Wagner Creek, New Affordable Rental Building in the Hospital District(Miami, FL March 17, 2017) – Mayor Tomas Regalado appeals to Florida government elected officials and citizens to come together and join him and the City of Miami in opposing Florida Power and Light (FPL) backed legislation – Senate Bill 1048: Linear Facilities, sponsored by Senator Tom Lee, and House Bill 1055: Linear Facilities, co-sponsored by Representatives Clay Ingram and Bobby Payne – now before the State of Florida Senate and House of Representatives. “The City of Miami and other local governments have joined in the charge to ensure that FPL complies with the land use regulations enacted to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our residents,” said Mayor Tomas Regalado. “If passed, Senate Bill 1048 and House Bill 1055 will allow electric utility companies throughout Florida to avoid and ignore essential regulations.”
