City Of Las Vegas Partners With Local Business And Church To Beautify Schools

Volunteers To Work At Two Elementary Schools

Las Vegas NevadaOn Saturday, Oct. 8, the city of Las Vegas will team up with community volunteers to clean up two local elementary schools. The projects will include painting of murals, cleaning the courtyard areas, repairing damage, installing benches and other work.

 

Starting at 8 a.m. at Vegas Verdes Elementary School, located at 4000 W. El Parque Ave., an expected 400 TELUS International participants will volunteer for the TELUS Days of Giving. This annual volunteer effort is sponsored by TELUS International, a contact center and technology outsourcing provider with 850 team members in Las Vegas and more than 23,000 team members worldwide.

 

The city is assisting with planning the event and providing some of the supplies through the Love Your Block and Keep Las Vegas Beautiful initiatives.

 

Starting at 9 a.m., volunteers from the Redrock Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints will be working at JT McWilliams Elementary School, located at 1315 Hiawatha Road. McWilliams is part of the city’s Reinvent Schools initiative that is focused on creating community schools.
