City Issues Filming Notice for Residents in New Orleans East

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to residents in New Orleans East.

Tomorrow, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 17, a production company will film exterior scenes in front of 13552 Chef Menteur Hwy. The sequence being filmed involves special effects including simulated gunfire and a car crash. As a result, during the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., Chef Menteur Highway eastbound will be closed from Michoud Boulevard to Old Gentilly Road. A detour at Michoud Boulevard will take drivers to Old Gentilly Road, which reconnects with Chef Menteur Highway.

Law enforcement officers will be on site to ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work.

Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy, assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.

In 2016, New Orleans hosted 50 film tax credit projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000) with direct spending of roughly $423 million.
