Wars and Rumors of Wars, let's Get out of the UN. Viewed 70,120 times

The blinding, shocking flash of nuclear weapons shook the earth and stunned the entire nation as nuclear weapons were detonated over targeted cities. The atomic-blasts incinerated entire city structures and turned to sand and glass-crystals the concrete buildings which only moments earlier had proudly proclaimed the existence of long established cities and human habitations.
Entire schools, hospitals, military bases, libraries and other government buildings, stores, warehouses, parks, homes, zoos, churches, shrines, streets, cars, trucks, trains, airplanes, and orchards all were obliterated in the instant of hell’s atomic-furnace being unleashed upon the targeted cities. The waters of ponds and a river were vaporized instantly or boiled by one blast. Boats upon the waters burst into flames.
Tens of thousands of the citizens of each city, men, women, and children were vaporized in a furious instant, some casting permanent shadows upon cement walls that remained. The vapors of their mortal life merged with the roiling, superheated, enormous, mushroom clouds over the spot where their cities had long been. Thousands of inhabitants further out from the cities thus destroyed were blinded or sickened from the nuclear blast and fallout to await a longer death or agonized life as a result of the blasts.
News of the detonation of the nuclear devices and the destruction of cities spread quickly around the globe gripping the world’s populations in fear and awe of the vast destruction that had resulted in the loss of so many lives so quickly. The names of the cities thus destroyed were blazoned on the headlines of newspapers and across the airwaves.
In the targeted nation’s cities left unharmed a stunned populace realized their national defeat had suddenly been accomplished and their lives would never be the same. The war had suddenly and terribly come to an end and they could be certain that an occupying military force would soon land upon their shores. Sadness, fear, even depression gripped millions of them. They mourned for their losses.
Immediate negotiations for peace were appealed for by the defeated nation’s leaders. Surrender without terms was quickly offered as the dust from the mushroom clouds settled over the countryside and the first photographic glimpses of utter destruction were obtained and distributed.
The world over caring individuals wept and prayed for those who had lost their lives and for the future of mankind that the awful events seemed to portend.
Through the use of nuclear explosions, the long war had been brought to a sudden explosive ending and a new fear had descended upon mankind. It was the first week of August in 1945 when the first nuclear attacks were ordered to be conducted against the two cities in Japan that had been targeted for complete and instant destruction by the president of the United States, Harry S. Truman and his top military leaders.
In October that year the horrible fear of “nuclear war” was held up as one justification for the establishment of the United Nations as a new supranational governmental architecture to be empowered to save mankind from war, yet the UN Charter was seen by an astute few as a war document, not a peace document.
We have been warned of the signs of the end times. Jesus told his disciples that war would fill the earth; “Ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars….For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”
America’s military forces have been engaged in combat, in invasions, in military occupations throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
For almost seven decades, 67-years in fact, the United States government has kept our government affiliated as a member with the United Nations and what have we benefited for that association? It may be easier to answer what the association with the UN has cost us in blood and treasure.
In June 1945, the UN’s Founding Conference was held in San Francisco, California. The Secretary General of that founding meeting was Alger Hiss, a communist and a subversive agent of Joseph Stalin. Alger Hiss was also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) at the time, a globalist think tank headquartered in New York City since 1921. President Harry S. Truman was on stage in San Francisco to shake hands with Alger Hiss at the UN Founding Conference. That same year, the Congress passed the United Nations Participation Act that made the U.S. Government a participant in the UN’s actions, including military actions.
For almost seven decades our country has entangled itself with the UN octopus of organized globalism, its military adventurism and oppression, its financial machinations through the IMF and the World Bank, and off and on we’ve been entangled with the UN’s social machinations through UNICEF and UNESCO.
What has come out of the long entanglement? We have had to finance the UN through payment of UN dues, haven’t we? And even though there are 190 members nations within the UN’s membership, for a long time the U.S. has footed 22% of the financing for the UN even though America constitutes only 1 of the 190 member nations, with one vote at the UN General Assembly out of 190 votes. Yes, we are on the UN Security Council, but that doesn’t mean we block every nefarious move of the UN through vetoes does it?
Why should the USA shoulder the unfair burden of paying 22% of the UN’s cost? Why does the United States end up shouldering the huge military burdens we shoulder for the United Nations and for its “Regional Arrangement,” NATO, by way of acting as the police force for the world? How are we compensated for the danger we are put in as we acquire new enemies through our global cop efforts? What has America obtained in return for the wars we have fought and still fight to enforce UN edicts or UN Security Council Resolutions? Let’s answer that question honestly. We’ve obtained coffins filled with American corpses haven’t we? We’ve obtained an increasingly higher and higher national debt haven’t we? We’ve obtained an increase of enemies across the globe, haven’t we?
Membership in the United Nations has involved America in war after war beginning with the Korean “UN Police Action” in the 1950s where our troops remain engaged today after six decades. Because SEATO, the South East Asia Treaty Organization, was formed under Chapter VIII of the UN Charter, Presidents John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard M. Nixon involved our military in a war in Southeast Asia, especially in Vietnam, didn’t they?
Let us be honest, haven’t we Americans seen America’s military involved in Katanga in the Congo in the 1960s by President Kennedy to transport UN troops to fight Katanga’s soldiers despite the fact that Katanga was fighting for its independence and had done nothing to threaten the USA? Didn’t our troops under President Bill Clinton invade Haiti as UN Peacekeepers and then invade Somalia as UN peacekeepers? Didn’t President George Herbert Walker Bush send hundreds of thousands of America’s finest into combat in Kuwait against Iraq in Operation Desert Storm? Our soldiers were sent into Bosnia under NATO and they are still there decades later. Our navy sent war planes that bombed Kosovo without a declaration of war by our Congress, but under orders from NATO as Bill Clinton allowed their use, do you remember?
Our American military, in the last half of the 20th Century and in the beginning of the 21st century has been acting a part as “peacekeepers” for the United Nations or its subsidiary “regional arrangements,” SEATO and NATO, hasn’t it? Yes, for decades now our military has fought for global stability or for “nation building,” under UN sanctions without the UN paying the U.S.A. a dime to finance all of the military combats, invasions, military occupations of nations, right? Have you ever heard of the United Nations paying the US Government a dime for all of these constant wars we fight for them? Does the UN pay for the upkeep of our soldiers who are injured and sent home blind or without limbs? No, not a dime; instead we taxpayers foot the ongoing bills from these wars and our soldiers and their family suffer the consequences of these many wars.
Isn't it true that instead of the peace the UN’s founders promised we’ve been involved in almost constant war for the UN and its subunits? How many tens of thousands of American soldiers have lost their lives in combat or otherwise on these foreign assignments on behalf of the United Nations, or enforcing UN Security Council Resolutions, or on behalf of NATO or SEATO? We know over 50,000 of our soldiers died in the Korean conflict and at least 58,000 dead Americans are commemorated on the Vietnam Memorial wall, right? So just those two conflicts alone show 108,000 Americans were killed as global policemen for the UN or its Regional Arrangements, right? Was it worth it? How did this better America, or increase American freedom, or make friends for us around the world? How did this help America’s government reduce its debt? It didn’t, it helped some corporations make a lot of money creating tanks, helicopters, and other war materials, but the involvement of our military in these foreign adventures increased our government’s debt, didn’t it?
In 1992, America sent government representatives to the UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), the so-called "UN Earth Summit," from which came the UN’s “AGENDA 21,” their agenda for earth in the 21st century. This month, the U.S. will further entangle itself in the United Nations global green plans for what it calls “sustainable development” as our government sends representatives next week to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the UN’s Rio + 20 confab. One entanglement after another that intrudes the UN into our governments and into our lives.
Isn’t it time to withdraw the USA from membership in the United Nations? Isn’t it time to return to being an INDEPENDENT country of 50 states instead of a UN minion doing the UN’s bidding as part of the “INTERDEPENDENT” nations of the United Nations? Isn’t it time to repeal the United Nations Participation Act of 1945 and to pass the American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2012, H.R. 1146 that would remove the USA from membership in the United Nations?
Wouldn’t we Americans be better off if we minded our own business as a nation and got out of the entangling alliance with the UN’s new world order crowd that seeks to build an oppressive world government? That would be a foreign policy of neutrality something like Switzerland has engaged in, right? Switzerland has remained at peace for eight-hundred-years.So a policy of neutality can be done. Comparing Switzerland's history to ours haven’t we seen enough history with the UN to know that it has not benefited America by bringing us peace, but rather that membership in that global government has brought us war, war, and more war?
Wasn’t our Constitution designed to limit the size and scope of government to a few assigned roles, roles determined to be proper for the federal government? But hasn’t the UN taken our federal government into roles and tasks never assigned to our government by our Constitution?
Like tens-of-thousands of other members of The John Birch Society have said for the past fifty years, I say: “Get US out of the UN, and Get the UN out of America!”
